How to Give My Smile a Spring Cleaning!

When most people think of spring cleaning, they probably imagine dusting the cabinets or reorganizing the closet for starters. This is simply a chance to tidy up your living space so you can have a sense of a fresh start. But have you considered ways to neaten your dental hygiene? Keep reading to learn four tips on how you can improve your teeth cleaning routine this month!

Tip #1: Get a New Toothbrush

Time flies by when you’re having fun, and since the winter and new year holidays are over, you might want to check on your toothbrush. After a while, the bristles may wear down and become ineffective at keeping your smile clean and fresh on the daily. For this reason, it’s best to replace your toothbrush every three to four months. However, you can also smarten up your product by getting one with soft bristles to protect your enamel. Using a powered toothbrush can also give you the extra strength in removing plaque!

Tip #2: Wash Your Toothbrush Container

During your cleaning spree, be sure to take a double glance at your toothbrush container. Whenever you aren’t brushing your teeth, the holder is mostly sitting on the counter and collecting all the same germs as the rest of your bathroom surfaces. To prevent spreading any bacteria to your brush and mouth, it’s best to clean it once or twice a week. Wiping it down with disinfectant or running it through the dishwasher can do the trick.

Tip #3: Schedule a Dental Visit

Aside from your daily dental hygiene routine, a visit to your dentist is great for maintaining clean and healthy teeth! Not only will they professionally polish your pearly whites, but they’ll examine your mouth for any developing issues they can treat early on.

Tip #4: Consider Teeth Whitening Treatment

Maybe you want to go the extra mile with freshening up your smile. If so, then you can always ask about teeth whitening treatments. Your dentist may be able to provide in-office or at-home options to help you achieve the look you want.

By including your dental hygiene in your spring cleaning, you can be sure to enjoy a fresh start for your home and smile! And if you’re interested in additional ways to improve your teeth, your dentist is always a phone call away.
