Originally from New York, Dr. Crovatto and his family moved to Orange Park following his father’s completion of dental school. After opening his practice in 1983, Dr. Crovatto typically helped his father take care of patients throughout his high school years—most of which involved lab work and offering a helping hand with various other duties. It was due to this experience in helping his father that he decided to also pursue a career in dentistry, and he’s never looked back!
Following his time at Orange Park High School, Dr. Crovatto went on to study at the University of North Florida before attending the University of Florida for his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and graduating with honors. He’s highly trained in various areas of dentistry, his favorite being restorative care, dental implants, extractions, and root canals. He was also the past president of the Clay County Dental Society, and he regularly seeks continuing education to remain on top of the latest techniques and advances in the field.
At home, Dr. Crovatto lives with his wife and their two children. Other than spending much of his time with his family, he also enjoys things like fishing, diving, and flying.
Born and raised in South Florida, Dr. Edwards loves calling North Florida her home and is proud to serve this community and beyond. She and her husband decided to move to this part of the state about the same time that Dr. Crovatto began reducing his hours. By becoming an associate dentist, she was able to help lessen the workload and quickly felt at home working at our office.
Dr. Edwards studied at the University of Florida to earn both her undergraduate degree and her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Today, she loves providing a wide range of treatments to improve patients’ pearly whites. Her favorite services involve cosmetic dental services, including veneers and orthodontics. Being able to help ensure that our patients near Lakeside get the high-quality and custom care they need and deserve is incredibly rewarding, and she loves every minute of it.
If you don’t find her at the office treating and maintaining pearly whites, Dr. Edwards is likely at home spending time with her husband and their two beautiful daughters. She also enjoys things like doing home improvement projects, traveling to new places, and watching the Gators play.
The experience from the time I enter the Dental Office to the time I depart is superb. All of the team make me feel valued and heard. Dr. Edwards puts me at ease and communicates every step as needed through my procedures. So glad I was referred to Crovatto and Edwards Dentistry! I would highly recommend them to all of my family and friends.

The first step in obtaining emergency dental care is to call Crovatto & Edwards Family Dentistry as soon as possible and let someone on our staff assist you. If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 immediately.
Most hospital emergency rooms, mobile clinics, and urgent care centers are not equipped to handle dental emergencies, and thus if you go there, you are unlikely to be treated.
In most cases, you can expect a same-day appointment with us, but please call us as soon as possible and let our staff help you.
Remember, dental emergencies are often an indication of larger dental issues, and an important sign to get back into the habit of regularly visiting your dentist. Regular visits can help prevent future emergencies, saving you time, money, and your natural teeth!
The cost of a dental check-up and cleaning can vary depending on geography and other factors, including the dental health of the individual patient.
A check-up and cleaning should always begin with a patient health history and a discussion of any patient concerns. It should also include a thorough examination completed by Dr. Crovatto or Dr. Edwards, a professional cleaning, X-rays, and an oral cancer screening.
The average cost in markets across the United States ranges from $200 to $350. If you have dental insurance, the fees for your check-up and cleaning (including any out-of-pocket co-pays) are negotiated with us by your insurance provider.

Here in the United States, all dentists must have earned either a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) from one of the nation’s 67 accredited dental schools.
Acceptance into dental school requires the student to have earned a bachelor's degree (and typically very high grades) in a major that is heavy in both math and science.
Dental school is three years, with a combination of classroom and hands-on learning.
Some dentists continue their education by earning one of twelve specializations recognized by the American Dental Association. These require an additional three or four more years of dental school training.
Following graduation, all dentists are required by law to complete a minimum number of continuing education hours to maintain their dental license.
